LACMA EXHIBITION POSTER - Print
This poster for my exhibition series incorporated the Art Nouveau style which has always been a style I liked. This art movement’s style derived from natural forms and structures such as the curved lines of plants and flowers, including an ornate and hand-drawn flare incorporating pastel and muted colors. This poster features the Art Exhibition of Charles White located at the LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art) in Los Angeles, CA. The piece of art being displayed is titled LIFE MODEL: CHARLES WHITE & HIS STUDENTS. Charles White was the first African American faculty member at The Otis Art Institute in Los Angeles, CA. This exhibition was to showcase the artist’s effect on his students as an art teacher as he encouraged his art students to use different mediums (one being sketching). My goal in choosing Art Nouveau for the theme stems from how I felt it related to Charles’ artistic methods of teaching his students. I used Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to execute this compilation of photo and illustration.
